A Little Bit About Me (Late 2021)
December 5th 2021
I've always been obsessed with technology. As a young kid, I remember being fascinated by the Super Nintendo, although I never managed to beat Battle Toads..
Years later, I became fascinated by YouTube and began to obsess over Premier Pro, VFX, and graphic design. A little while longer, someone introduced me to VBA and taught me how to scrape websites. I guess that caught my attention, because a few years later I graduated with my bachelors and masters degrees in Information Systems and moved to NYC to start a career in tech. Since COVID, I've started a SAAS company with friends and spent my free time learning how to use a DSLR to capture the way that I see the world.
I recently switched careers by moving from Software Engineering Consulting into Product Management and I'm really enjoying the new challenges I have to work through, although I have far too many meetings on my calendar.
Through my career so far, I've been working to find the right blend of technology to match my personality. While I don't think I've found it quite yet, I'm hoping that building this site and feeling it with beautiful things will help me in that journey.
Here's what I know going into 2022:
I enjoy working with software (coding or being a PM) during the day, but I'm not passionate enough about it to spend my free time coding or reading up on the latest frameworks.
I'm super passionate about UX, both in software and hardware.
I read way too much tech news (primarily on The Verge) and watch a lot of reviews on YouTube. Can't get enough out of either.
Creating something beautiful & teaching others really gives me great satisfaction and causes me to lose track of time.
If money weren't part of the equation, I'd take photos of beautiful things, use video to tell people's interesting stories, and spend a lot of time out of my apartment exploring.
At this point, I'm rambling. If you've read this far, I appreciate you taking the time! If you have any need at all for my photography/videography skills, please let me know! My goal for 2022 is to find a way to upgrade from my Nikon D7000 to a Sony A7 IV
